Beach Bungalow (Aureus Concept)

Designed as a concept project for a 14 metre wide, 450m2 block at the Aureus Estate - Skennars Head, this fresh and bright home features a large private courtyard that fills the home's centre with beautiful North Eastern light. With styling on classic beach cottage lines, the home has a highly functional layout and all modern expectations. The basis for this concept home was to solve the problem of a difficult orientation of North to the street, requiring an unconventional design approach. The home wraps around from front to back, providing a high measure of privacy and 2 light filled living areas bathed in Winter sun. The front portion of the home is a retreat in itself, with a bedroom, lounge and bathroom all positioned well away from the rest of the home, yet still closely connected if needed via the central courtyard. The garage has two options for access - one through the front section of the home and a second via the courtyard, leaving the front rooms undisturbed. Coming home from the beach is a simple process of showering beside the garage and then slipping into the home via a multitude of bedroom and living area doors which open onto the protected, private couryard. The kitchen has a commanding view over the dining, living, alfresco and courtyard areas and is accented perfectly by a Butler's Pantry and separate Laundry located discreetly close by. The home is compatible with both the Greenfield Housing Code and the Ballina Shire Council Development Control Plan (subject of course to DAP and council approvals).
